What does this have to do with you and me?
Well, simple.
Our US based suppliers are sending out emails with production times and great info like this:
“This year we have opted to refrain from setting a Father’s Day deadline. Simply put, we cannot confidently guarantee delivery dates with the ever changing situation of COVID-19. Limited production paired with overwhelming demand and sporadic shipping delays have disrupted the synergy of eCommerce. That is why it is imperative to get out in front of potential issues by informing your customers of delays by tempering their expectations. Transparency with your customers will make any unexpected changes easier to deal with and reconcile.”
What does that mean?
Every single business is being affected. This will also continue into the future as things open up again and we continue to try to work through a backlog of shipping issues.
For us, we are still getting 95% of our products out within days…
But why have I not received my product? Because the shipping channels are so backed up that even the large shippers, DHL, Fed-ex, and UPS are refusing packages...
We are still making top quality products sourced from producers around the world and we are getting those to people that are LOVING them.
It is important though to temper your shipping time expectations.
An extra week, and the worst we have seen an extra 6 weeks really is a short time to wait for something you will use for years to come.
Here is a picture from one of our suppliers.

Due to the increased demand, express couriers like DHL Express and FedEx have increased their pricing twice since April 27th and cut available capacity for our express items to less than 100 items per day. They have also removed their guaranteed delivery times due to the pile-ups in their warehouses.
They make great items and we use them for our families needs. We have had these items for years, and still love them!
So, remember that while this world has changed greatly in the last 20 years and we simply think that everything is going to come overnight from Amazon… That is becoming less true.
So, whether with us or with others, please try to continue to be understanding and patient.
Thank you.
